Everything you need to know about working with Cross Ledger. Can't find your answer? Book a call and ask us directly.
Three things. First, time zones: Latin American bookkeepers work your hours, not overnight. No more waking up to questions that should have been answered in real time. Second, English: our candidates speak fluent, natural English, not textbook English. They can get on a call with your CPA and hold their own. Third, tool literacy: they know QuickBooks, Stripe, Shopify, and the rest of the US small-business stack because that's what their clients have always used.
On a marketplace, you're still doing the work: writing the job post, filtering hundreds of proposals, interviewing, and hoping for the best. We do all of that for you. Every candidate goes through structured interviews, English fluency checks, and practical accounting simulations before you ever see them. And you hire the person directly, no marketplace sitting in the middle taking a cut.
Traditional staffing agencies charge a monthly markup: you pay them, they pay the person, and you never stop paying the premium. We charge a one-time placement fee. You hire the bookkeeper directly, you pay them directly, and there's no ongoing cost to us. Our fee is also well below the standard recruiter rate of 15-25%.
Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia. These three countries have strong accounting education systems, high English proficiency, and time zones that overlap with US business hours.
Your relationship with the bookkeeper is yours to set. Most of our customers run them as 1099 contractors. We don't sit in the middle. Once the placement is made, the working relationship is entirely between you and the bookkeeper.
Directly. Most customers use Wise, Deel Contractor, or Mercury international transfer. We can recommend a setup on the discovery call based on what works best for your business.
We charge a one-time placement fee that scales with the role's annual salary. It's well below the typical recruiter rate of 15-25%. Most of our customers find it pays for itself in the first month of having a properly trained bookkeeper instead of an under-qualified one. Get the exact number on a discovery call; we'll give you a flat quote based on the role you need.
We offer a six-month replacement guarantee. If you terminate the placed candidate for any good-faith reason within six months, we source a replacement at no additional placement fee. That's more generous than industry standard, which is typically 30-90 days.
Typically 3-4 weeks from discovery call to first candidate interviews, and 4-6 weeks to a confirmed start date. Timeline depends on the role complexity and your availability for interviews.
QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Xero, NetSuite, Stripe, Shopify, Gusto, Bill.com, Excel/Google Sheets, and Slack. We match candidates to your specific stack. If you use it, we test for it.
Not directly. If you want a managed payroll or employer-of-record setup, we can introduce you to Deel as a partner. Most of our customers handle payment directly through Wise or Mercury.
Part-time roles typically run $800-$1,800/month. Full-time roles run $1,500-$3,500/month, depending on seniority and stack complexity. We'll give you a specific range based on your requirements during the discovery call.
Yes. About a third of our placements are part-time. Many small businesses don't need a full-time bookkeeper, and that's fine. We'll scope the role on the discovery call and find someone who fits.
Not at launch. We're deliberately narrow because that's how we go deep on the skill profile. We place bookkeepers and staff accountants, and we vet them more thoroughly than anyone else in the space.
